We are happy to utilizing these assets to train and groom aspiring young industrial professionals in area of molecular biology.
We are currently offering, short hands-on training workshops with different modules to cater this need.
Module I - DNA Extraction and Quantification
Workshop: 2 days Workshop
Batch Size 10 (First come basis)
What will you learn:
Basics of DNA extraction from various sample types like Blood, plant tissue, animal tissue or microbial culture. Basics of quality and quantity check of DNA using agarose gel electrophoresis and nanodrop. A certificate of participation.
Day 1: Introduction to module and demonstration of techniques
Day 2: Hands-on procedure implementation using a single type of sample

Module II : DNA sequencing with Sanger Technique
Workshop: 3 days
Batch Size 10 (First come basis)
What will you learn:
DNA extraction from sample types like Blood/ microbial culture. Quality and quantity check of DNA using agarose gel electrophoresis and nanodrop. Amplification of a gene segment on the extracted DNA followed by quality check. Cycle sequencing PCR using the PCR product as template followed by Sanger sequencing and electropherogram study on Genetic analyser. A certificate of participation.

Module III - Molecular Identification of Micro-organisms
Workshop: 4 days
Batch Size 10 (First come basis)
What will you learn:
DNA extraction from microbial culture. Quality and quantity check of DNA using agarose gel electrophoresis and nanodrop. Amplification of a gene segment on the extracted DNA followed by quality check. Cycle sequencing PCR using the PCR product as template followed by Sanger sequencing and electropherogram study on Genetic Analyser. Basic bioinformatic analyses like contig generation and NCBI BLAST/ database search for molecular identification of the organism and basic phylogenetics. A certificate of participation.

Day 4: Bioinformatic analyses

*Participants are required to bring their own laptops (only required on day 4) for Bioinformatic analyses.
Eligibility:
Anyone who is interested. Students pursuing or have completed any Life Science course (graduates/ post graduates) and looking for industrial exposure and training in the basic Molecular Biology Techniques can apply.
